Parallel Processing
Summary:
Created as part of the WSU Crimson Game Jam (FA24)
Work together with up to 16 total players (locally) using a simple 4-directional input system that supports multiple players per input device. Play as a robot family trying to meet their maker and rescue him from his poor driving decisions by making poor driving decisions of their own!
This game features:
- Some very scuffed sprites that vary wildly in scale and detail
- Several mechanics that were scrapped because I ran out of time (What in the world do those white and blue rooms do?)
- Some really cute robot sprites named after Python functions
In all seriousness, the game doesn't really live up to what I had envisioned, but it was a lot of fun trying to put it together under pressure and a great learning experience overall. I look forward to the next Crimson Game Jam!
Controls:
Each player is controlled by four directional inputs. The possible input sets are:
- WASD keys
- IJKL keys
- Arrow keys
- Either control stick on a control
- The four face buttons on a controller
- The directional pad on a controller
- (Numpad keys are displayed on the main menu but are non-functional on the web build for some reason)
Complete a full circle for any input set (e.g., W-A-S-D-W) on the main menu to register each player. When all players are ready, hold the enter key or start button to begin!
(Note: Most controllers should be functional, but I was not able to test every case here. When in doubt: disconnect the controller, reload the game, and then reconnect the controller.)
